Downloadable Recipes for Comfort

Everything is a little bit upside down at the moment, and many of us are seeking comfort in old, familiar favorites. I had a couple of people reach out and ask for Cyril’s recipes, so I thought I’d put together a collection of the hits for everyone to use–if they feel like cooking.

Inside you’ll find:

Gougeres, Olives, Mac n Cheese, Garlicky Greens, Carrot Chickpea Salad, Bonus Surprise Salad, Beet Burgers, Lamb Meatballs, Lemon Yogurt Cake, and Coconut Chocolate Pots de Creme

Slip into your Cyril’s tee and get cooking.

Note that some of the recipes are in grams, some are in ounces, and some might be in cup measures- what can I say except that I did my best with what I could find in my expandable file of recipes. Thankfully the internet does incredible culinary conversions.

Printing Pro Tip: If your printer can print things double-sided, you can print this as a booklet! When you select Print, the dialog box will have a drop-down (the word that’s showing is Preview), select Layout. From the Two-sided drop-down, select Booklet, and then print.

I’ve heard so many people say that they are too intimidated to try to make Indian food at home. Here’s the thing, Indian food often involves a bit of prep–this can take some time–but none of the preparations are difficult or complicated.

Over the past few years, I’ve cooked a ton of Indian recipes at home. This downloadable pdf includes some of my favorite and most reliable recipes. I have credited the original authors of these recipes and noted where I’ve made modifications, and I encourage you to look at these as flexible instructions and to take liberties anywhere you are missing ingredients or see flavors you don’t like.

If you rip through these recipes and you want more, here are a couple more links to keep you cooking: Tejal Rao’s 10 Indian Recipes in the NYT, Khaman Dhokla The Perfect Appetizer, and Chitra Agrawal’s website (whose book, Vibrant India is also fantastic).
